Sourced in the lush rainforest of Namosi, in the Fiji Islands, VaiWai® we harvest the water from the natural aquifer and then bottle it at source.

Has VaiWai® been formally recognised for its taste and quality?

VaiWai® is an award winning smooth water sourced from an aquifer deep under the forest in Namosi, Fiji, this is a pristine source with organic certification. The organic certification of the land gives you the assurance of purity.

VaiWai® has been thrice awarded by the International Quality Institute in Brussels as an exemplary tasting water, achieving 3 Gold Stars and is the preferred choice by water sommeliers in the markets we operate in. The aquifer is deep underground and acts as a natural filter so that the water at the source is very pure and has a uniquely smooth texture and “appealing mineral content”.

What does VaiWai® mean ?

VaiWai® is a combination of two words from the Pacific. “Vai” is a Polynesian word meaning water while “Wai” is the Fijian word for water too. To be pronounced “Vye Wye”, where the ‘ye’ in each sounds like the ‘hy’ in “why”.

Is VaiWai® alkaline?

Yes it sure is, VaiWai® has an alkaline ph level of 7.5

Is VaiWai® organic certified?

While the water itself cannot be certified organic under the current certification codes the land above the VaiWai®source is certified organic. Upholding the standards for the organic certification of the land means that it protects the natural aquifer and keeps it as pure as possible.

Where is VaiWai® manufactured?

VaiWai® is bottled at source in Namosi in a lowland tropical rainforest. Namosi a beautiful lush area on the main island of Viti Levu in the Fiji Islands.

What does VaiWai® do to maintain the pristine environments at the source?

We operate a 420 acre property in a rainforest area and it’s super important for us to maintain it’s beautiful pristine conditions.

For below the ground, our beautiful aquifers are monitored and measured to ensure the purest housed in a sustainable setting and as we receive four to five meters of rainfall each year the aquifer levels remain unaffected by our operation.

For above the ground, we have ongoing testing to maintain our organic certification status through Southern Cross Certified, Australia. Operationally, we have stringent practices above the pristine source area to maintain purity and quality at the source.

We also have a conservation programme in association with Nature Fiji and raise endangered palm species that are native to the area.

How is VaiWai® exported from Fiji ?

The most environmentally friendly way to export things from Fiji is sea shipping and that is how VaiWai® leaves the country. We did some calculations based on average carbon dioxide(CO2) emissions per mode of transport and found out that, for example, from a CO2 emissions perspective, it is better to ship from Fiji to Brisbane, Australia than to freight by road from anywhere located more than 660 km away from Brisbane.
